I thought it might be useful to put up a few "live" web demonstrations of some of the concepts we cover in class. Several of the readings we cover either make explicit reference to a simulation, or might be better understood through a simulation. To the extent that I have time, I will try to replicate some of these. They will be listed here, each with some description of what the learning objective is.

Power Distribution
This is a replication of the simulation from the Cook, et. al paper -- The Distribution of Power in Exchange Networks: Theory and Experimental Results (AJS 1983).

Utility Network
This is a replication of the simulation from the Hummon paper -- Utility and Dynamic Social Networks (Social Networks 2000).
